This fall one of Denmark’s most spectacular highway projects was inaugurated in Silkeborg. An impressive 225 tons of Plexiglas Soundstop noise-control barriers have been installed along the 29 km of highway to ensure sound reduction from traffic.
The architects of the project have worked with various expressions to create a design that match the highway route that runs through both nature and urban environment. Along the forest road of Silkeborg, green barriers have been used to make them blend into the surrounding nature. The route that runs through the urban areas of the city has a more colorful approach with transparent barriers in catchy orange or green.
